For jelly shoes that do not turn yellow due to aging, the following methods can be used to restore their original color:
1. Soak the jelly shoes in detergent for half an hour, then gently brush the yellowed areas with a shoe brush. After brushing, they will recover, but not as transparent as the new ones.
2. Cleaning with a small amount of 84 disinfectant can also treat yellowed jelly shoe soles. Add 3-5 drops of 84 disinfectant to water, soak the jelly shoes in it for 10-15 minutes, then scrub the shoes clean and rinse with water.
3. If the yellowing is caused by oxidation due to long-term non wearing of jelly shoes, a 1:1 mixture of turpentine and ether can be used. Dip a cloth in it and wipe back and forth for 10 minutes. Finally, rinse with warm water to restore the original appearance.
4. Another method is to wet it with volatile oil, brush it with a soft bristled brush or cloth, then scrub it with 10% ammonia water or concentrated ammonia soap solution, and finally wipe it clean with warm water.
If the above methods still cannot restore it, then you can only make do with wearing or buying a new pair of jelly shoes.
